After MidnightThe world isn’t quite the same after midnight. Sometimes it feels that the world does not exist at all, and you are left to create the support of your own being with whatever is left behind. There is no universe beyond the stiff, fold-out couch in this little condo, and the book I’ve been reading becomes frighteningly real. It is not the fact that the story itself is meant to be scary, but because my lonely mind has somehow built the fictional world around me before I had even noticed. Missed MeaningsWhat is it about the mundane that tends to inspire us as humans? If noticed in the every day life, little things are meaningless and probably unnoticed unless it pokes an unsuspecting bare foot. The bits of trash laying in the gutter like paper and broken glass; a regular old tree in the neighbor’s yard; an abandoned car with a shattered windshield or a hole in the pavement that looks suspiciously like Abraham Lincoln. All common yet random, and all meaningless except for that one particular moment when you really look and your brain finds some connection.
